Based on a true love story, ‘Nesi’ is directed by Saravana Krishna and produced by JS Kannan while Ramesh G wields the camera. The music is by Sirpi. Dignitaries Rama Narayan, Sivasakthi Pandian, Kalaipuli Thanu, Lawrence, Mansoor Ali Khan, Ponvannan, Jaguar Thangam, Editor Mohan and Pandiarajan were all praise for the team.

The hero of the film is none other than renowned dance master John Babu’s son Vikas. His screen pair in the movie, Mumbai model Sonia Suri, also debuts in this film.  Three songs from the film were screened which included a koothu number, a duet and a love montage. Vikas has shaken quite a leg in the movie and appears pretty confident in his debut movie. “I owe it to my father who has been in the film industry for the past 30 years,” says Vikas who is pursuing his 2nd year BCom in Vivekananda College. “From childhood, I have been watching dad perform and have also assisted him on sets many times. I have picked up dance moves from him and also learnt a lot about camera angles and how to perform for the camera, thanks to him,” says Vikas.

“It’s a total love story and shows the power of love,” reveals Vikas. The film was shot mainly in Karaikudi along with Chennai and Kodaikanal. Nesi awaits a November release. Maybe, its refreshing love story angle could be what the youth are looking for this season, and ensure footfalls in theatres.
