It is the turn of yesteryear heroines to don the role of mothers in Kollywood. While actors like Kushboo, Devayani, Priya Raman and Meena, among others, have occupied the small screen, some of the prominent heroines of yesteryears are playing the hero's mother in many of the forthcoming films.

Actoress Sukanya, introduced by Bharathiraja, is playing Sakthi's (P Vasu's son) mother in Thottal Poo Malarum. The movie is directed by P Vasu himself. Former National award winning actor Archana has been chosen to play Dhanush's mother in Parattai Engira Azhagu Sundaram. The movie, directed by Suresh Krissna, began recently.

Also joining the race is Nadia. One of the most sought-after heroines in late 1980's, Nadia plays Vishal's mother in director Hari's Thamiraparani. Actor Revathy has agreed to don a similar role in one of her forthcoming movies. Now Kollywood has beautiful moms, busy shooting at various studios.
