After acting opportunities dwindled, Ranjitha married an army officer and settled down to a domesticated life. With her husband's consent, she started acting in TV serials. But this did not satisfy Ranjitha. She had always dreamt of directing movies.

She already has several scripts and stories in hand. She plans ultimately to become a director.  Like actress Revathi, she thinks directing a film in Hindi is a very challenging task. She is right now trying to rope in Kareena Kapoor for her venture by narrating her stories. She is convinced that Kareena would eventually agree to star in her film.

Whatever may be the outcome, Ranjitha is convinced that June will see her don the cap of director. Recent women directors like Priya and Revathi.S Varma have failed to convince and Ranjitha plans to create an impact.  We will know the answer by this year end!
